In 1980s Pittsburgh, Benito "Beans" Moretti is a man who's spent his life fixing problems-except the one that matters most. When Beans discovers a mysterious African puzzle box said to restore memory and longevity to whoever unlocks it, he becomes consumed with one final mission: to save the woman who saved him.

With his sharp-tongued grandson Carman and a rebellious young clerk named Leia, Beans sets out on a cross-country journey to a Philadelphia auction where the fabled "Elephant Box" will be sold. What begins as a desperate gamble becomes an odyssey through family, faith, and forgiveness-testing the bonds between generations and the cost of holding onto the past.
