Raised in East St. Louis, Illinois, Sergeant Major Pam Duggan learned early to dream beyond the limits of her surroundings. One of five children, she was shaped by faith, perseverance, and an unshakable belief that purpose is discovered through service.

In December 1982, she answered the call to serve in the United States Army a decision that launched a 37-year journey of leadership, sacrifice, and resilience. The Invisible Hand chronicles her rise through the ranks to Sergeant Major, culminating in her retirement on June 1, 2020.

Alongside her husband, Calvin, who also served 28 years and retired as a Sergeant Major. Pam continues her mission today as a Department of Defense professional, serving as a senior research analyst for the Office of the Secretary of War at the Pentagon.
