'THE MANOR HOUSE SCHOOL' by Angela Brazil; Lightly Edited for Modern Readers by Suchitra Ramadurai; Fresh Illustrations; Cream Paper Inside;SOFTCOVER

Before Enid Blyton, there was Angela Brazil; and if Blyton were a meringue, then Brazil is the whole pavlova!

First published in 1910, THE MANOR HOUSE SCHOOL is one of her most admired school stories, and a foundational work of schoolgirl literature.

The Manor House is a school straight out of a dream. An exotic, stunning mansion full of secrets, it has been partially repurposed as a school; and if stealthy searches for a hidden loot aren't exciting enough for the students Nora, Lindsay, Cicely and the rest, there are daily adventures with bats, rats, peacocks, ducks...and run-in's with suspicious-seeming residents. There's also the mystery of the troubled young heiress to the Manor who the children desperately want to help, amidst heaps of exploring, uncovering, surprises, and overall riotous fun!
