The Martyr

He was the son of a simple fisherman with nothing of true worth. At least that was how he saw himself. James, the first-born son of Zebedee felt like a disappointment to his father and to the religious community he lived in. His desire for something more than a simple existence grew beyond his capacity to find contentment in an ordinary day. When God electrifies the ancient Judean landscape by sending His Son, James was divinely invited to follow this controversial Rabbi.
