Every night at 11:40, the doorbell screams. No one is there. And the neighbors are turning on each other.
For three weeks, the residents of 42 Maple Street have been terrorized by a phantom doorbell. It rings. They run outside. The courtyard is empty. Again. And again. And again.
Friendships shatter. Suspicions boil over. One man nearly calls the police on his neighbor. An elderly woman stops leaving her apartment after dark.
But Scout the raccoon sees what the humans miss: a rusty lamp post, a swaying banner, a forgotten button - and the laws of physics creating a "ghost" that rings on a timer.
The real enemy isn't a prankster. It's a mechanical accident no one thought to look up to find. And Scout will have to stage a daylight "haunting" to make the invisible malfunction impossible to ignore - before fear destroys the block.
