The Night Bus

"Pate never recalled the town bus stopping here in front of the cemetery; certainly not this late at night. Following her gaze, he saw the bus was coming. It was rounding the bend in the road and slowly making its way up the hill. The bus glowed a sort of translucent, Vaseline-green color, the kind of glow you see when a black light is placed underneath that antique depression glass. What did they call it? Uranium glass? It was unsettling to see the illuminated square shape approaching through the darkness. The girl stood up and Pate noticed that the green light reflected off her face and skin, making them almost transparent. He swore he could see the outline of her skull, eye sockets and teeth, as well as the bone structure of her fingers as she reached out to him."
