The Shrine Skulldiggery Book 6

In the frailty of burgeoning 16^th century science, Dr. Herbert Chanet recovers bones from a cryptic ossuary said to have come from the time of Christ. Piecing together the enigmatic skeleton, he is horrified to discover life stirring within. Blossoms of weeping flesh swarming the frame while sinewy strands slither and stitch the barebones together. The resurrected baring hungry teeth in symphony with a piercing hiss before vanishing into the black of the nearby French forests and mountains.

Excavating subterranean chambers within a honeycomb of unstable shafts and long-abandoned tunnels, Russell Stander and his team peel back layers of earth and history to reveal an impossible monolith both out of time and place. The revelations discovered sending them scurrying across the untamed wilderness of France in a desperate quest for answers. Crossing isolated communities steeped in barely whispered lore, what returns with them hungers for more than just revenge and blood.

Stretching across eons and crossing primeval folklore with the very fabric of humankind's faith, both men's destinies are seemingly preordained.

Sure as the kiss of Judas.
