Two ordinary friends make an accidental discovery which leads them to a world unlike any other.

Barnaby (10) and Miranda (13) never expected to unlock a power capable of bending space and time, something neither of them wanted or ever thought of. But Miranda has a strange condition which means she can't be outside in sunlight, so she spends time in the garden when there is moon light, which makes her better. When Barnaby spots her from his bedroom window one night she is outside "moon bathing" and on an impulse he climbs out of the window and walks down the silent street to the house next-door-but-one.
