With her career and life finally falling into place, the last thing Gillian DeGarmo wants as she faces her forties is for her high school archnemesis to move into the office across the hall. But that's exactly what she gets when Daphne Milner shows up calling herself a professional cuddler, intent on opening something called a "snuggery." 

It's clear the two of them have to share a workplace, but between Daphne's irreverence and the whole touching-people-for-pay thing, Gillian can't find a single way to relate to Daphne. Then again, at least that's something they agree on because Daphne can't understand what anyone sees in such an uptight, sanctimonious ice queen.

Still, proximity has a way of wearing down walls. The more intertwined Gillian and Daphne's lives become, the harder it is to remember why they're determined to dislike each other-to wonder if maybe they were wrong about major memories all along. Could there be something to the old adage about how opposites attract, and if so, can a second chance to truly see each other sustain two women with vastly different ways of seeing the world?
