Unfinished Journey is the extraordinary life story of Raymond Sung Joon Cho, born in Incheon, South Korea in 1936 and raised by a devoted single mother whose wisdom and unconditional love became the foundation of his life.

Having survived both the Second World War and the Korean War, Cho witnessed firsthand the brutality of the world at a young age. He pursued education with relentless determination, often studying through the night despite physical hardship. His perseverance led him to early professional success, including a position at the American Embassy in Seoul.

In 1967, Cho immigrated to Canada, where he began again from the bottom of the ladder as a dishwasher, facing the realities of racial discrimination. These experiences shaped his lifelong commitment to human rights and social justice. Elected as a Metro Toronto Councillor in 1991 and now serving as Ontario’s Minister for Seniors and Accessibility, Cho has dedicated his life to serving others, particularly the most vulnerable.

This memoir is not only a reflection on the past. At nearly ninety, Cho looks ahead with a renewed mission: to establish a community that brings together people of all cultures and backgrounds to nurture future leaders grounded in faith, compassion, and service.
