Anglicko-česká zrcadlová četba pro středně pokročilé. Velký Gatsby je nejslavnějším románem Francise Scotta Fitzgeralda. Příběh se odehrává v New Yorku 20. let minulého století, kdy nečekaná hospodářská prosperita přinesla i ztrátu morálních hodnot. The Great Gatsby is the most famous novel by Francis Scott Fitzgerald. The story takes place in New York of 1920s, when unexpected economic prosperity brought about the loss of moral values. Jay Gatsby, trying to get his beloved girl gets into the high society, becoming popular for his richness and mystery that exists around him, but never really fits into it, because human relationships are still the highest value for him. Gatsbys tragic end is an absurd mistake, as if it only emphasizes the emptiness and superficiality of the rich world.
